Excellent ideas,

Overall, I was entertained by the film. Although I don't usually watch horror, I found that this one had enough to it that I could watch and enjoy it without being very disturbed. Granted, it is frightening at points, particularly the last third of the film, but it was paced well. The way this film takes the found-footage theme is quite well done with good twists and turns, keeping your attention. The acting is quite good, the characters were well-defined and funny when they wanted to be and the camera work is very well done. The visuals, background, camera-work and atmosphere are some of my favorite parts of the movie. It doesn't look like it's being recorded on a roller-coaster until it wants to and when it does, it does it very well, disorienting you until there is something it wants you to see. In conclusion, it is a well done movie, but it feels a hint rough when it comes to story. Pretty good concepts, but just a little rocky coming off. I would recommend watching it if you like found-footage films or if you like suspenseful horror.

Does common sense ever exist?

I stumbled across this movie channel surfing and within 20 minutes I wanted each and every character making the documentary to die slowly and painfully. Every bit of logic and common sense is thrown out the window at every turn. They are all self assured douche bags that, really, deserve to die because of their arrogance. There is so much wrong with this movie that I just can't explain why I am sitting here writing this review as I laugh at their idiocy at how they approach every situation that comes their way. Myself, the second my GPS and compass started malfunctioning for no reason would have made me get the F off the mountain. Holly, our magnificent documentary leader, who is very much like the mule headed dolt that lead her crew to their deaths in "The Blair Witch Project", just is beyond words simple minded. "Oh, everything stopped working properly? Oh, its OK. Don't worry about it! Why did we bother coming then??? We MUST stay!" "Oh, we found a cave with a bunker in it! Hey! I have an idea! Lets open the door without any thought at all of what might be back there! It's why were are HERE! Oh, and lets not tell anyone about it after we get back to camp!" Anyway, I am waiting patiently for them to die and it better be spectacular. I am sure you will be cheering right along with me if you happen to watch this movie.

The acting in this film really stands out. It's horrible and highly agitating. The acting is very distracting from the story. The story in itself is OK, nothing special. The last half hour it picks up but doesn't make up for the first hour of the film. A waste of time!
