Cheesy and uninteresting

The main character is nice, but why avoid all his life dedication on mystery, aliens, space and sound techniques? All neglected for a cheesy love story with a boring and over treated bias.

2 being reflective of its brevity and superficiality

What is the point of a 16-min mini documentary? It hardly documents anything but a brief summary of the life of John Shepherd: 1. His dad left after he was born 2. His mother was "different" 3. His grandparents raised him 4. He is self-taught in alien contact technology 5. He realized that he is gay when he was 12 or 14 6. He ran out of funds and failed to make alien contact 7. He made contact with John Litrenta in 1993 instead 8. He found his Happily Ever After But there are so many unanswered questions: 1. Why did his dad leave? 2. How was his mother "different"? 3. How did he fund and assemble all that equipment? 4. Is he on the autism spectrum? 5. What is life like with his partner? 6. Are they married? 7. What does he do with himself now? 8. What's next for John Shepherd? The good thing about this quasi-documentary is that even if you don't care for it, you would have only wasted 16 min of your life.

I'm a fan of Netflix providing exposure to different forms of storytelling

Well made short doc (16 minutes) on one man's passion, his search for the unknown, and discovery of something he wasn't looking for. Nicely crafted music. Professional editing and camera work. Good job
